Back from Atlanta

I just got back from my 2nd trip to Atlanta. It can be refreshing to venture out of the state and do something different every once in a while. Since I never got to talk about my first trip..I'll just sum up what I did when I went to Atlanta when I went in August & this past weekend.

Trip #1
- Atlantic Station: a convenient place for shopping (H&M!), entertainment, and dining. You can also park for free for 2 hours at the parking garage in the back next to the movie theater.
- Book Chang Dong Tofu House in Duluth

- Centennial Park: This spot was built for residents and visitors to enjoy for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and for years to come. The 21-acre park includes a playground for children and what visitors come here mostly is for The Fountain of Rings.

- Georgia Aquarium: The world's largest aquarium.

- Stone Mountain Park: The mountain is one big rock and is 825 feet tall and covers 583 acres. If you're lazy like me, you could take a skylift up the mountain and hike back down.

- Suno Dessert: Serve freshly prepared Asian desserts & beverages. They also serve a humongous plate of shaved ice at a good price.

- The Varsity: The largest drive-in fast food restaurant in the world. The restaurant caters to Georgia Tech students and was actually built by a Georgia Tech drop-out.
- Tin Drum Asia Cafe: This is sort of like the Bento's of Orlando/Gainesville except this place only serves Vietnamese & Thai food.

Trip #2
- 88 Tofu House: The first restaurant we ate at because we arrived to Atlanta at 12AM and this is the only 24hr Korean restaurant.
- Bakery Cafe MAUM: I have a sweet tooth for delicious treats and desserts! Out of all the romantic Korean bakeries in Atlanta, this was by far the best one. The bakery is called MAUM and in Korean, Maum means the mind, soul or spirit.

- Cafe 101: A contemporary Szechuan restaurant with a creative menu and dramatic interior. It's true when people say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, because the exterior of the restuarant looks like an awkward hut but once you step inside you are surrounded by all these colors and design elements that make the restaurant look surreal.
- Piedmont Park: Another big and luscious park. A lot of people come here to go bike riding, jogging, or to walk their dog. There is also a dog park where dogs do not have to be leashed and can run freely. There was also this really cool electronic restroom that looks like an elevator from the outside and in the inside everything looks really hi-tech.
- Super H Mart: The nicest and cleanest Asian supermarket I've ever seen. It's a Korean supermarket but they also sell plenty of non-Korean brands. The cafeteria also has a selection of dishes from Japan, China, and Korea.

- The Flying Biscuit Cafe: I love it when emo people open up cafes because you can always expect a crafty new-age decor that cannot be found anywhere else. This place serves breakfast all day as well as weekend brunches, and they're famous for their fluffy biscuits.

I'm so happy that I was able to fulfill all of my 2008 resolutions!

As a matter of fact, I didn't have any! :P

But I'm glad to say that there were a few changes that stuck out to me that made this year just as good as any..or maybe better.

So this is the reason why I've been missing in action lately. Life feels great..not like it didn't before, but I just thought we should give it a try and see where this goes. No pressure. We're still young so why not have fun? :)

Fall 2008 : Complete

School is done for me and now I finally have time for myself.

What to do?

1.) Look for a job
2.) Catch up with all my friends
3.) Play more games
4.) Read a book
5.) Watch some movies
6.) Play the piano
7.) CLEAN MY ROOM. The past few weeks have been so hectic and it's so hard to maintain a clean room when there is no more space for clothes.
8.) Resubscribe to Lucky magazine and I was also thinking about subscribing to Elle & Harper's Bazaar.

But most importantly,

I need to prepare myself for next semester. It is going to be so hectic! >.<

Sunrises are special to me because it reminds me of a particular time of my life. So I'm glad I got to capture this moment because I'm rarely awake early enough to watch one. There's just something about the morning air that makes life seem refreshing.

Morning glow

It would be nice to wake up looking as beautifully & glamorously as Sarah Jessica Parker in SATC. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to have a team of stylists around me at all times.

A handful of everything

Today would a nice day to sit outside on the grass next to a pond and munch on A Handful of Everything. This jar contains a mixture of raisins, almonds, chocolate drops, peanuts, cashews, coconut & dried fruit.


Even though I'm sick, I am in such a great mood today. I am ready for anything! :)

Fighting evil by moonlight

I hope everyone had a happy&spooky halloween! Mine was kind of hectic..and you know how I get when I feel rushed throughout the entire day...I get cranky! Well anyway, there was a Halloween party on Friday and the theme was school girls & nerds. Don't you think it's kind of odd to throw a themed party when Halloween should already be a theme by itself? Oh well, the party turned out fun!

My best friend somehow convinced me the week before to be a sailor scout with her and at first I thought the idea was SUPER EMBARRASSING. But when do I ever feel embarrassed about anything?? It took a lot of motivation but I ended up finishing my outfit right before the party and I was very satisfied with how it turned out! Fabric at Joann's only costed $8 and the bows probably amount up to $2. Halloween costumes should always be this cheap! Now that I feel more confident about sewing, maybe I will start making my own outfits from now on instead of wasting money at the mall.

I feel...inspired.

Which is almost done, by the way! I still have a lot more things to tweak it up. Like buying the pillows I want for the futon, finding a decorative bowl & decorative clock, preferably the black silhouette cuckoo clock that is ONLY $17 at target! This is such a rare find because most silhouette clocks run for about $100+. I also saw one on Wal-Mart's website selling for $14.99, but just like Target, all the clocks were sold out. Boo...

Orlando vs. Memphis

Wow, I haven't been to a basketball game in a while. I used to go all the time with my dad when I was younger. It doesn't seem as it exciting anymore as it used to be. But I still had a fun night nonetheless! Orlando Magic won, yay!

At last

After weeks of trying to save money, I finally went shopping today with my best friend. We spent about 2 hours in the new Forever21 store at Prime Outlets and we felt a little spontaneous..so we decided to go the Forever21 at Millenia Mall just to make sure we bought everything we needed. It would of been nice to catch up with her for dinner afterwards but we both had an appointment at 6PM that we couldn't be late to.

I love those days where you can catch up on all of your errands and have a time left over to treat yourself to whatever you like. I wish I had more of those days..

The weather is perfect and I really appreciate these flowers that someone gave me this morning.

Intense weekend

I haven't had time to rest or sleep in the past 24 hours. It's not like I haven't done it before, but I felt really bad for being in a such a cranky mood during the Breast Cancer walk this morning. I have work again at 6PM so hopefully I can get some sort of sleep because last night my friends & I got out of work at 3:30AM & then we stayed up to go to community service at 6AM. Tomorrow also looks like it's going to be a long day.

Rollerskating = Best work out ever.

I haven't gone rollerskating in such a long time..and tonight, it felt so good. I was on the rollerskating rink for almost 2 hours! There were times were I felt tired and my legs were starting to get sore but I was having such a good time that I couldn't force myself to leave. The music was right, the people were friendly, and I felt free.

Don't be scared to fall down, because you can always pick yourself back up. Let your wheels guide you and leave all your troubles behind. And these words are what I try to live my life by.

Nothing to do

It looks like I'm staying at home tonight.

I'm going to take advantage of this free weekend that I have before my schedule starts to get hectic again. I've been meaning to do a few things at home that I haven't made time for, such as: cleaning up my room, catching up on my recent issues of Vogue and Lucky magazine, and jotting down a couple of thoughts in these cute notebooks that I bought in Korea Town when I was in Atlanta. Why is that everytime I put all of my clothes away, I find twice the amount of clothes on the floor again at the end of week?

It feels really weird to be at home for a long time because I've been out so much lately. And when I come home all I have time to do before I go to sleep is play the piano. I'm almost done with learning how to play At the Cafe from the movie Windstruck! Even though the song is sad, it sounds so beautiful..and that is the kind of music I like to play.
